On Oct. 23, Media Conference of 2011 China-ASEAN Publishing Expo was held. At this session of regional international event, publishers at home and abroad held academic exchanges and exploration over various aspects, covering copyright trade, publication & distribution, printing /duplication and digital publishing. During the Expo, 12 projects on copyright trade and publishing cooperation were signed, having expanded the space for cooperation and exchanges, and promoted exchange and cooperation in publishing and culture between each other.
On that day, officials and publishers from ASEAN countries as well as Chinese government officials and publishing experts held face-to-face exchanges over The Consensus of Nanning reached among publishing circles of China and ASEAN Countries. Various parties expressed that they will strengthen cooperation, enhance the publishing and exchange level between each other, encourage and organize publishing entities in their own countries to participate in international book fairs held in China and ASEAN countries annually, with the aim of providing cultural supports for economic & trade cooperation between China and ASEAN Countries, realizing mutual benefits and win-win solution.
As introduced, China-ASEAN Publishing Expo. 2011 added strong cultural flavor to the 8th China-ASEAN Expo. During the expo., publishers from ten ASEAN countries gathered in Nanning, and 3,000 titles of books (in original edition) from ASEAN countries were on display collectively for the first time in China. Eleven noted central and local publishing and media groups including China Publishing Group Corporation, Phoenix Publishing Media Group Co Ltd, Reader Publishing Group brought about 3,000 titles of excellent books covering politics, economics, history and culture published over the recent two years for display. The visitors actively presented various activities such as China-ASEAN youth reading festival, thematic lectures of famous writers, and signed book sales held during the expo and produced a favorable response. Meanwhile, China-ASEAN Signing Ceremony of Publishing Cooperation, China-ASEAN Publishing Forum, and China-ASEAN Digital Publishing Forum were held successfully during the expo.
