18 years of planning and design separate Beijing's first Olympic bid in 1991 from their successful bid in 2003. To chronicle this process, the Beijing Municipal Planning Commission publishes "Olympics & City", together with the Beijing Municipal Institute of City Planning and Design, the Beijing Institute of Architectural Design, Tsinghua University School of Architecture, and other companies and experts involved in the planning process of the Olympics.
