The Writers Publishing House is a state-leveled large-scale literature publishing house established in 1953, where there are 8 book editorial departments, with a faculty of 107 people, among whom there are 26 senior editors and 39 middle-rank ones.

Chen Jiangong (1949- ) is a native of Beihai (Guangxi). He graduated from Chinese Language & Literature Department; Peking University in 1982. After graduating from high school in 1968, he successively worked as coal miner in Jingxi Mine, professional writer of Beijing Writers Association, director of the fourth session of China Writers Association, member of the fifth National Committee of China Writers Association and Vice-Chairman of the sixth session of China Writers Association. He is incumbent Vice Chairman, Member of Party Group, Secretary of Secretariat of the seventh session of China Writers Association and Director of National Museum of Modern Chinese Literature. He is also Member of the Tenth and the Eleventh CPPCC National Committee and Executive Director of China Overseas Friendship Association. He has published works since 1973. He joined in Chinese Writers Association in 1982. His works include saga novel (Imperial City Wall) (co-author), collections of works (Collection of Selected Novels by Chen Jiangong, Collection of Selected Proses by Chen Jiangong); short story (Confusion Star Sky), collection of short stories (Collection of Novels by Chen Jiangong), novella (Frizzle); novella collection (Criminal Record); Essays (Fess Up, Beijing's Taste) and so on. Short stories Slim Eyes and Colorful Turban Along with Wind respectively won National Award for Best Short Story and Award by Beijing Literature; Frizzle won Literature Award by October. Sun Stone won novella award by Eastern Youth. A movie adapted from novella Looking for Fun won Youth Film Critics Award in Berlin Film Festival 1993, the Tokyo Film Festival, Spanish San Sebastian Film Festival, France, Nantes Film Festival Award for Best Feature Film. Zhao Danian (1931- ) is Manchu and a native of Beijing. He graduated from Nankai Middle School in 1949. He joined the army in the same year, and successively served as member of art troupe and culture instructor. He is director of the first session and the second session of Beijing Writers Association and Vice Chairman of the third session of Beijing Writers Association; Vice President of the first session and the second session of China Minority Writers Association. As a professional writer, he has started to publish works since 1950. He joined in Chinese Writers Association in 1979. He is qualified for Level I of Literature Creation. His works include saga novels (Great Retreat, Female War Prisoners' Experiences, Major Case Of Musk, Cloud Nine); essay collections (Butterfly In Dream, Essays On Life, Appreciation For Greenery, Youth Without Any Regrets); collections of novellas and short stories (Princess's Daughter, Purple Wall, Zhao Danian Volume, Xisanqi, Hunting in Lingdingyang) film scripts (A Flow Of Traffic, Child Voilinist, Jade Butterfly, (Imperial City Wall) (co-author)) and so on. Saga novel (Imperial City Wall) (co-author) won Excellence Saga Novel Award in Celebration of the 45th Anniversary of the Founding of the PRC. Short story Live Fish won Award by National Literature. Women Attache won was the first Literature Award by Writer Magazine. A Flow Of Traffic won the first National Minority Literature Award. Princess's Daughter won the first prize of the second National Minority Literature Award and the first prize of China's Manchu Literature Award.
