Dazu Stone Carvings, situated in Dazu County, Chongqing, is a general name for religious grotto arts since the Tang and Song dynasties, one of China's three most famous grotto groups--Yunkang, Longmen and Dazu. Dazu's stone carvings are known for their combination of both beautiful forms and exact expression of meaning, stories are told in such a way that readers are always deeply touched by their reasoning, sentiment, attraction of happy life and the dread of punishment after death, never tired of reading.
