Guangdong Provincial Publishing Group (GDPG) is the largest publishing group in South China. It was established in December 1999 and is located in Guangzhou, the capital city of Guangdong Province. Taking publishing and distributing books, magazines, audio-video products and e-journals as its major business, GDPG is also engaged in business fields such as educational agency, tourism industry, overseas education consultation, real estate, property management, etc..

GDPG boasts powerful financial strength and plentiful publishing resources. It owns 26 printers and companies with a total asset of RMB4.1 billion Yuan. GDPG publishes about 5,000 titles of books and 500 kinds of audio-video products per year and its annual sales income hits RMB2.6 billion Yuan.

GDPG has eight publishing houses: Guangdong People's Publishing House, Guangdong Education Publishing House, Guangdong Science and Technology Press, Flower City Publishing House, New Century Publishing House, Guangdong Economy Publishing House, Guangdong Petrel Electronic & Audio-Video Publishing House and Guangdong Language & Audio-Video Publishing Company. These eight publishing houses all have their own special emphasis in different fields of publication: social sciences, education, science & technology, literature, children, and economic management. They produce audio-video and electronic products on education and language learning as well. From the very beginning, GDPG has carried out the business policy of "taking knowledge as the basis and regarding readers as God", published large volumes of books of high quality, and taken a leading position in the country.
