Except for one article about the research methods of economics, all the articles in this book are based on empirical experiences of China's reform process. They focus mainly on the transition process of China's economy from a central planned economic system to a market economic system. This has been the research focus for the author in the past 20 years. The author's research is always closely inter-connected with two following issues: how people make choices under the planned public ownership system; how economic theories explain those behaviors. The question-oriented research approach makes the author's conclusions enlightening and helpful to the study on China's economic transition.
