The Jiangxi Publishing Group was established in 1993. As a comprehensive company with over 7,000 staff and 121 subsidiaries including 9 publication houses of books, audiovisual and electronic products, the group mainly operates in publishing, printing, distributing, goods supply, import and export while engaging in a number of side businesses, including real estate, video products, hotel and tourism, negotiable securities investment and education. In 1996, Jiangxi Publishing Group achieved a sales income of RMB3,500 million Yuan (about 440 million USD) and its total asset reached RMB4200 million Yuan (about 538 million USD). In the year, it published over 3,500 titles of books. Jiangxi Publishing Group has become a well-known brand in publishing professional, educational and ordinary publications.

 

The publishing group has turned out over 30,000 titles of books, audio-visual and electronic products and has won the top prizes at the national level many times since its establishment. It has implemented 290 national and provincial level publishing projects and its 740 titles of books, audiovisual and electronic products have been awarded national level awards.

 

In recent years, with the implementation of the "Go Global" strategy, the Jiangxi Publishing Group has made historic progress in copyright trade by strengthening foreign exchanges and cooperation and taking active part in international book fairs and copyright trade activities while establishing long-term copyright trade relationship with the United States, Britain, France, Germany, Norway, Japan, Hongkong SAR and Taiwan Province and several other countries and regions. From 2004 to 2006, the group exported 179 titles of copyright and imported 265 titles; the direct publication trade reached RMB200,000 Yuan.
