Mr. Gerald de Roquemaurel was born in Paris, on March 27, 1946. He holds a Master's degree in law, graduated from the Institut d'Etudes Politiques and, in 1970, was admitted to the prestigious Ecole Nationale d'Administration.

 

In 1972, he joined Publications Filipacchi, and four years later was appointed General Manager of Paris-Match.

 

In 1981, he was named Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Hachette Press Group.

 

Since 1983, he has particularly developed the international business of the Group; As the same time he continued to serve as Chief Executive Officer and Director of Publications Filipacchi.

 

In June, 1997, he was appointed Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Hachette Filipacchi Médias.
