Best-selling financial writer Sun Zhaodong's new book, RMB Internationalization, examines the future of the RMB.
Sun says this is the right time to discuss the possibility of internationalizing the Chinese currency, with the global financial crisis providing a chance for the RMB to play a supporting role in the world economy.
In the book, Sun discusses the background, environment and process of, and the barriers and problems to, the RMB becoming a world currency, in an easy-to-understand way. He predicts that "in 30 years, the world's core currencies will be the euro, US dollar and RMB".
