Physician-turned-writer Bi Shumin makes a wish in her most recent book, Headspring of Happiness, that readers will feel happier about after reading it.
Bi aims to help readers explore the art of inner balance and harmony in her newest offering, by tapping her knowledge of psychology, medical science, and the humanities.

Through case studies, she tries to provide people with solutions for curing latent psychological traumas, such as anxiety, inferiority, depression, and fear of death.
The book is based on her lectures in Lecture Room, a popular CCTV program, which started airing from Feb 6.
Bi, 58, started writing in 1987, after serving for 11 years as a PLA army medic in Tibet and then for seven years as a physician in Beijing. She has been writing steadily since, and has bagged numerous literary awards over the years.(Yang Guang) |
