Wen Xiaofan deputy general manager of China Publishing Group Digital Media Co Ltd gave a Work Summary of CBI Website
Mar. 25-26, Wen Xiaofan and Li Peizhi, respectively deputy general manager and editorial director of China Publishing Group Digital Media Co Ltd went to Heifei, Anhui province to attend the 6th Working Conference of the Working Party of "China Book International" Project.
During the conference, Wen Xiaofan, deputy general manager introduced to participants about CBI website's main work in 2009 and work focus, planning and suggestions in this year.
In her work summary report, Wen Xiaofan, deputy general manager said, nearly 1,000 pieces of news and 400 pieces of people's profiles were edited, compiled and translated by CBI website last year, meanwhile, the website's launch of a new edition was initiated, aiming to better cater to the access and reading habits of foreigners. Wen Xiaofan, deputy general manager of China Publishing Group Digital Media Co Ltd, told the reporter that the website has undergone improvements in four areas: a broad width website style has replaced a narrow width one; more pages are devoted to the introduction in French, German, Russian, and Spainish; new columns (sub-columns) have been established, including Special-themed Activities, Achievements, Copyright Statistics, Publishers, Culture, etc; new interactive functions have been added, such as book reviews, book abstracts, and supply & demand service. It's introduced that CBI website has started the development of commercial functions so as to realize sound development, and is also making efforts to launch the commercial functions soon, aiming at providing e-books' paid reading and download services and making the website a main channel for promoting Chinese books to "go abroad."
Li Peizhi, editorial director offered representatives from various member publishers training on CBI website's new edition, introducing about the features and usage tips on the new edition of the website. During the training, the participants also made suggestions on improvements of the website and conducted exchanges in this regard.

The conference was jointly sponsored by Information Office of the State Council and GAPP, and organized by Times Publishing & Media Co., Ltd. The government-sponsored, enterprise-dominated, and market-operated "China Book International" Project has become a famous project for the opening-up of China's press and publication industry.
