Contents Briefing
As the last two dynasties of China’s feudal society, Ming and Qing dynasties have three common features in arts: literati painting being the mainstream in painting field, the intellectualization of arts and crafts, and the infiltration of folk interest. The early, medium, and last periods of Qing Dynasty also divide fine arts into different periods—inheriting and developing period, prosperous period, and transition period. But at the same time, the fine arts of different times share four common features, which are summarizing, gradually changing, deepening and striding characteristics. The development and evolution of fine arts in these two dynasties and their common features have reflected the general features of China’s transition from ancient feudal society to modern society. Based on theoretical analysis, this book gives a complete and detailed description of the development and achievements of fine arts in Ming and Qing dynasties, providing rich and precise materials for researchers and learners.
