First Chinese book fair held in Mongolia

ULAN BATOR, May 24 (Xinhua) -- Introducing Mongolians to China and its culture is the goal of the first Chinese Book and Textbook Fair, which opened on Monday at the National University of Mongolia.

At the opening of the three-day fair, organized by the Confucius Institute, S. Tumurochir, newly elected rector of the Mongolian National University, highlighted the importance of cultural relationship of two countries in his speech.

The fair's main goals are to introduce China and the Chinese language to Mongolians. Books related to history, economy, culture and tourism of China are displayed at the fair.

A total of 36 publishing houses from China have participated in this fair.
