The Confucius Institute at NSU Kicks off "Window to China" Activities

On May 13, the opening ceremony of a series of  "Window to China" activities was held in the Confucius Institute at North South University (NSU) in Bangladesh. Zhang Xianyi, Chinese ambassador to Bangladesh and M.A. Kashem, Chairman of NSU Foundation attended the ceremony.

Zhou Mingdong, Chinese Dean of the Confucius Institute told Xinhua News Agency reporter that "Window to China" activities will last half a year. These activities range from cultural lectures given by Chinese and Bangladesh scholars invited to the Confucius Institute to cultural exchange activities and performance tours in Bangladesh by Chinese performance troupes scheduled at the end of this year, etc.
 
The Confucius Institute is aiming to show the Chinese traditional culture to the public in Bangladesh, enabling more people to learn about China, said Zhou Mingdong.
 
The Confucius Institute at NSU was jointly established by NSU, a Bangladeshi private university, and Chinese Yunnan University on Feb. 14th, 2006.
