BEA 2010 Kicked off with the Participation of 36 Chinese Publishers

The 4-day Book Expo America (BEA) 2010 kicked off in the Javits Center, New York on May 25. May 23, the Chinese publishing delegation comprised of members from 36 publishing entities had gone for the US. During the expo., Wu Shulin, vice-administrator of GAPP who went to US for a high-level seminar at Harvard University also visited the BEA to meet members of the Chinese delegation.

Various brand-new thematic seminars, events and forums are held for the first time at Book Expo America (BEA) 2010, of which the International Digital Publishing Forum 2010 becomes a   heavyweight event again at this year's BEA. With the participation of 20,000 or 30,000 booksellers, distributors, marketing experts, editors, agencies, 1,000 authors and 1,500 exhibitors, the fair presents thousands of the latest titles of publications. The fair provides publishers attending the BEA and their products with the publicity opportunities, and also provides numerous exhibitors with a platform to learn about each other and expand their fields of cooperation.

It is learnt that Chinese publishing delegation rented a pavilion covering an area of 400 square feet (36 square meters) and exhibited 600 titles of books, covering the fields of social science, literature & arts, encyclopedia, education and children's readers. This time, Chinese publishing delegation is comprised of members from 36 publishing entities in 11 provinces (municipalities) including Beijing, Shanghai and Shandong etc.
