May 24-25, the 4th China-South Korea Writers' Conference on the theme of "Past and Present, Literature & Tradition" was held in Seoul, South Korea. Sponsored by Paradise Culture Foundation, a host of Chinese writers, translators and South Korean writers attended the conference.
A spokesman of Paradise Culture Foundation said in opening speech that in spite of the differences in nationality, ethnic group, language, customs and habits, we're the same to explore the meaning of life and human nature in written words. We're friends to have the same conversation topic; we're eager to know about each other the ways to interpret joy and sorrow, happiness and misfortune, sympathy and detest, and are willing to listen to literary comments or opinions from everyone. Dong Shenglong, a member of the Chinese Writers' Association and a poet, on behalf of Chinese writers hoped that this form of literary exchange will further enhance the mutual understanding and friendship between the peoples of China and South Korea.
During the period of two-day conference, Chinese and South Korean writers read their works for each other and discussed in frank, candid way. After the closure of the conference, Chinese writers, accompanied by South Korean writers made two-day cultural trip to Gangwon-do.
