Li Kan was born in Liaoning in 1922 and died at the age of 88 in 2010. He is a member of the Communist Party of China, the seventh and the eighth CPPCC committeeman, an outstanding publisher, historian, the former vice-president of China History Society, the former chief editor of Zhong Hua Press and the former present of Hong Kong Zhong Hua Press.
The representative works of Mr.Li include "Cultural and Historical Data compilation", "Memoirs of 1911 Revolution", "Modern History Data", "History of Republic Of China", etc, from the 60's to the 70's. In the 80's, he joined in the edit of "National Planning of Editing and Publishing of Ancient Books " (Qing history and Modern history), such as "Sino-French Wars", "Sino-Japanese war"," Lin Zexu Collection", etc. Moreover, he published many thesis collections about memory 1911 Revolution 50th and 70th anniversary.
