June 30, the debut ceremony for the release of Chinese Corpus of Spiritual Culture (Volume 6) was held in Chinese section, Far East Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS). Li Hui, Chinese ambassador in Russia and Valentin I. Sergienko, Chairman of Far East Branch of Russian Academy of Sciences and Russia-China Friendship Association presented and made speeches. Rogachev I. A, former Russian ambassador in China who is now a member of Federation Council of Russia, diplomats from Chinese Embassy in Russia, and Russian sinologists as well as people from both Chinese and Russian media circles, nearly 100 people in total, attended the debut ceremony.
Chinese Corpus of Spiritual Culture is compiled and published by Oriental Literature Publishing House, subordinated to the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS). Five volumes have been published in succession between 2006 and 2009, which consist of <Philosophy>, <Myth and Religion>, <Literature, Language and Writing>,<Historic Thoughts, Politics and Legal Culture>, and <Science & Technology, Military Theory, Health Care and Education>. <The Arts >(Volume 6) published this time not only traces the history of Chinese traditional arts, but also covers contents ranging from film, drama and martial arts to the tea culture and dietary culture.
It's learnt that the book was published with funding provided by the Chinese Ministry of Culture, Chinese Embassy in Russia, China Development Bank, and other authorities. The series were once handed in by Osipov Yury Sergeevich, president of the Russian Academy of Sciences to Russian president Medvedev and Russian premier Vladimir Putin who transferred them as gifts to Chinese President Hu Jintao and Premier Wen Jiabao.
