Yunnan promotes Asian culture and art

The opening ceremony highlighted the diverse cultures of all the countries in the region and their sincere friendship.

The 2010 Pan-Asia Cultural and Art Festival is underway in Southwest Yunnan province.

The opening ceremony highlighted the diverse cultures of all the countries in the region and their sincere friendship.

Jointly presented by artists from China, India, Thailand, Malaysia, South Korea and other countries. The opening ceremony focused on showcasing both local customs and various cultures in the Pan-Asia area.

There was spirited ethnic music, glamorous lighting, colorful costumes and tremendous dances to entertain the audience.

Yunnan province, whose name can be literally translated to "south of colorful clouds" is famous for its delightful weather, scenic landscapes, and its unique blend of dozens of ethnic groups.

Sharing certain cultural similarities with some Southeast Asian countries, Yunnan is confident to promote all-round communication among the countries in this region.
