On 28 July 2010, National Conference on Party School Libraries Work and Information Resources Development was held in Xi'an. In the conference, the National Library of China (NLC) and Party School of the Central Committee of CPC Library co-sponsored the event of "National Digital Library of China Entering Party School". Li Jingtian, executive vice president of Party School of the Central Committee of CPC, Wang Xia, deputy secretary of the CPC Shaanxi Provincial Committee and president of Party School of the CPC Shannxi Provincial Committee, Zhang Boli from Party School of the Central Committee of CPC, Chen Gaotong, director of Party School of the Central Committee of CPC Library, and Wei Dawei, NLC deputy director, attended the opening ceremony of the event.
For holding this event, the NLC developed digital resource mirror service system, and raised 1 TB excellent digital resources with Party School of the Central Committee of CPC Library, including 2,000 e-books on Party policy, 22,000 academic papers on Party policy theory, 500 episodes of video resources on historical and cultural lectures, 3,400 historical pictures, 220,000 items of government public information and web information resources reflecting 5 different special subjects on achievements of modern socialist construction, all of which would be delivered to 48 Party school libraries above sub-provincial level, so as to satisfy the education, research and culture demands of staff and students in Party schools.
In November 2009, the NLC and Party School of the Central Committee of CPC Library officially signed strategic cooperation framework agreement. Both sides reached an agreement on co-developing Digital Resources Centre for Chinese Leaders Reading and Studying, and formulated implementation solutions, which marked the beginning of strategic cooperation. Wei Dawei delivered a speech in the opening ceremony. He said that, according to the agreement, the NLC would cooperate with Party School of the Central Committee of CPC Library on digital resources development and services, achieve co-development and co-sharing of techniques, resources, talents and services with the libraries in Party school system through Party School of the Central Committee of CPC Library, broaden the service field of National Digital Library of China, so as to satisfy the education and research demands of Party schools, provide information support and reference services for Party theories promotion and innovation, and contribute to the construction of learning Party and learning society.
