The Ethnic Language Publishing Base and Digital New Media Base will be built during the 12th Five-year Plan Period, revealed by the Bureau of Press and Publication Administration of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. This is not only a key part of the Construction Project for Support of Xinjiang worked out by GAPP, and is also a major move that Xinjiang has taken in aspects of its press and publication reform.
It's learnt that Xinjiang People's Press and Publication Group (Xinjiang Ethnic Languages Publishing Base) under preparation in Xinjiang, will integrate many publishing houses /presses on the basis of Xinjiang People's Publishing House. Meanwhile, Xinjiang will establish Xinjiang Digital New Media Base by integrating digital new media publishing resources to develop new media of digital publishing represented by internet and mobile phone publishing, allowing simultaneous online publishing of 38 kinds of Party newspapers in ethnic lanuages in Xinjiang; and run mobile phone newspapers in four categories: News and Politics, Laws, Science & Technology and Youth & Teenagers.
At present, the preparation in early stage for Xinjiang Ethnic Language Publishing Base and Digital New Media Base is underway.
