Huang Youyi, Vice President of CIPG and the U.S. Ambassador to China at the book presentation ceremony
July 23, China International Publishing Group (CIPG) presented a large-scale series of books titled Chinese Culture and Civilization to Embassy of the United States. Huang Youyi, vice president and editor-in-chief of CIPG, and Jon M. Huntsman, Jr, the U.S. Ambassador to China, attended book presentation ceremony.
Huang Youyi, on behalf of CIPG, presented to the Embassy of the United States the series, consisting of five picture albums in Chinese/English editions, namely Three Thousand Years of Chinese Paintings, Ancient Chinese Architecture, the Creation of Chinese Civilization, Ancient Chinese Sculpture and Chinese Calligraphy and hoped that friendship activity of book presentation will promote the understanding and trust between China and the US.
Jon Huntsman, U.S. Ambassador to China spoke highly of the series with rich contents and exquisite pictures, and the role of the series in helping readers learn about the Chinese long history and gain an insight of the charming culture of China. He said that he keeps the series in the collection of the embassy library to enable more people to read and enjoy.
