Wu Yan, the original name of Sun Jiajin, who was born in 1918 in Jiangsu province, is the member of CPC. After graduating form National Chi Nan University, he worked as a teacher, librarian, secretary of Cultural Relic Bureau, editor of Shanghai New Literature Publishing House, deputy editor of the Dalian Branch of the People's Literature Publishing House and the president of Shanghai Translation Publishing House. He began to publish the first work in 1938 and joined into the Chinese writers Association.
He published some works and translated many novels. The representative translations include "Cossack", "Winesburg Ohio", "Swirl", etc.
