China Agriculture Press to Build 15 Community Reading Rooms in Tibet

Aug. 7, China Agriculture Press and the Bureau of Press and Publication Administration of Tibet Autonomous Region held the signboard-unveiling ceremony of Jiacuo Community Reading Room in Jiacuo Community Residents' Committee Gongdelin Office, Chengguan District, Lhasa City. Meanwhile, Xingfu and Bayi, another two community reading rooms in Chengguan District also were built simultaneously.
 
It is reported that, to positively answer the central government's call for supporting Tibet, China Agriculture Press will build 15 community reading rooms in Tibet jointly with the Bureau of Press and Publication Administration of Tibet Autonomous Region. Each reading room has a collection of 1,100 titles of books totaling 3,300 copies, with a list price of RMB40,000. Theses books, with those in Tibet and Chinese accounting for 50% respectively, cover party's guidelines and policies, national laws and regulations, politics & economy, culture and education, science & technology, literature & arts, health care, and teenager education, etc, which will play active role in enriching spiritual and cultural life of the community residents, enlivening the cultural atmosphere in the community, improving residents' cultural quality, and ensuring the cultural right and interests of the residents.
